Lauren had her first dance recital on June 6th. We were all very excited for our little dancing queen to perform in front of an audience. However we were not sure she would be able to do it since she got sick a few days before. She recovered just in time to strut her stuff.

Here she is in her flower pot for the Flower Dance.

The flowers eventually make it out of the flower pots and dance across the stage.
Since there was no photography allowed during the performance these photos were taken at the dress rehearsal. SHE did beautifully there. However when it came time for the actual performance, she was scared because they had ALL the lights off instead of using a curtain and she could not see us (THERE WERE TOO MANY PEOPLE to even point us out in the crowd to her. So she sat there on the side of the stage and pouted for the entire dance. Her flower pot sat empty! So I paid $85 for the costume, $20 for the shoes & tights, $45 for the pictures, $45 for the DVD, $60 for the tickets, just to watch her pout. I could have done that at home... this was one expensive pouting session!!! Well what do you do... but laugh about it.
Afterwards she was rewarded with beautiful flowers of her very own. What a beautiful flower she made. We are so proud of you Lauren.
This also happened to be the day we signed the kids up for swim lessons. THAT is a whole different adventure in it's self. Let me just say it involved camping out at the park to wait in line for a good number! (Thank you Evan for doing it this year!)
Until next time....
