I am Thankful for...

I know I have neglected this blog for far too long... I have been a busy mom going crazy and lately I feel like I have a BIG BLACK X right across my door or a huge storm cloud pouring right over my head... but I am trying to find a silver lining!

I asked each of the kids what they are thankful for today and this is their response...

Dean says he is thankful for his whole family even the ones who live far away.

Lauren says she is thankful for rainbows and Jesus.

Paige says she is thankful for Heavenly Father and the sun shining.

I am sure that if Tyler could answer this question he would say he is thankful for REAL food instead of the mush he usually gets, the songs his mother sings to him each night, his brother & sisters who love to play with him, his Mommy and Daddy, and just to be alive! He is such a sweet baby who is always happy and has an infectious laugh.

Today I am thankful for ALL that I have been blessed with. My family, the roof over my head, the food on our table and yes even my UGLY Job! I am particularly thankful for the Savior. I have said it before and I will say it again he has truly blessed my life. The atonement has given me so much to live for and look forward to.

Thank you all for being supportive family and friends and may this start of the holiday season bring each of you peace. Oh and HEALTH... please stay healthy... NO SWINE FLU FOR YOU! It is not fun... Evan got it then it went straight to pneumonia. This is his first day back to work since the week of Halloween.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Until next time...

Happy Father's Day

Our Little Dancing Queen

Lauren had her first dance recital on June 6th. We were all very excited for our little dancing queen to perform in front of an audience. However we were not sure she would be able to do it since she got sick a few days before. She recovered just in time to strut her stuff.

Here she is in her flower pot for the Flower Dance.

The flowers eventually make it out of the flower pots and dance across the stage.

Since there was no photography allowed during the performance these photos were taken at the dress rehearsal. SHE did beautifully there. However when it came time for the actual performance, she was scared because they had ALL the lights off instead of using a curtain and she could not see us (THERE WERE TOO MANY PEOPLE to even point us out in the crowd to her. So she sat there on the side of the stage and pouted for the entire dance. Her flower pot sat empty! So I paid $85 for the costume, $20 for the shoes & tights, $45 for the pictures, $45 for the DVD, $60 for the tickets, just to watch her pout. I could have done that at home... this was one expensive pouting session!!! Well what do you do... but laugh about it.

Afterwards she was rewarded with beautiful flowers of her very own. What a beautiful flower she made. We are so proud of you Lauren.

This also happened to be the day we signed the kids up for swim lessons. THAT is a whole different adventure in it's self. Let me just say it involved camping out at the park to wait in line for a good number! (Thank you Evan for doing it this year!)

Until next time....

We are back

Thompson Kids March 2009
Hello All my fellow Bloggers.... I know it's been a while... a long while but like I said in a much earlier post we are expecting BIG changes in our lives this year... as a matter of fact the BIGGEST of them all arrived two and half weeks ago! SO without further adieu... here is what has been going on in our lives.

The kids School Pictures are here...
Dean (5 yrs) March 2009
Lauren (4 yrs) March 2009
Paige (2 1/2 yrs) March 2009
They are doing really well. They love going to school, but Dean has decided he doesn't like doing all the CRAFTS.... that is his least favorite part... even though he says he would like to be an Artist when he grows up. Lauren is doing well in her dance class and coming in June there is a big recital to look forward to.
Next post... Introducing...
Until then...
